Failure to have someone with current first aid qualifications on staff at all times (lunch break and holiday coverage included) is a breach of WHS law which carries a penalty of up to 60 penalty unit ($6,000) from workplace health and safety. The number of First Aiders your business requires is depended on numerous factors that can be determined by a First Aid Risk Assessment.

Unique Student Identifier [ USI ]

From 1 January 2015 the Australian Government’s Unique Student Identifier (USI) scheme came into effect. It is mandatory for all students undertaking training to provide a valid Unique Student Identifier (USI). It is a student’s responsibility to apply for a USI.

HLTAID011 Provide First Aid

This course prepares you to respond to emergency situations by providing you with the skills and knowledge in first aid treatment. Course content includes: responding to and managing an unconscious casualty; performing CPR; use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED); communicating details of the incident; respiratory and cardiac emergencies; bleeding and shock; acute medical emergencies; musculoskeletal injuries; traumatic injuries to the head, spine, chest, abdomen and pelvis; poisons, bites and stings; extremes of temperature. Please note this course includes CPR training. Recommended Renewal: 3 years (with Provide CPR renewed every 12 months)

HLTAID009 Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation

This course provides you with the skills and knowledge to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in an emergency situation. Recommended Renewal: 12 months Duration: about 3 hours face to face

HLTAID012 – Provide First Aid in an education care setting

For childcare workers‚ educators and support staff working within educational and care settings who are required to respond to a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylaxis treatment for emergencies in infants, children and adults.

HLTAID014 – Provide Advanced First Aid

This is a national recognised qualification. This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to provide an advanced first aid response, including management of the incident and other first aiders, until the arrival of medical or other assistance. The unit applies to workers who may be required to provide, coordinate and manage a first aid response across a range of complex situations, including community and workplace settings. You must first have HLTAID003 above in order to be eligible to take this course

HLTAID015 – Provide Advanced Resuscitation

This is a national recognised qualification. It is designed for experienced first aiders who use specific equipment and often work in higher risk environments. This course develops advanced skills for providing life support and focuses on the use of oxygen delivery systems and in-depth knowledge and skill in the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED).
